Dr. Shewmaker is a graduate of Howard University College of Dentistry. After graduation in 1981, he completed a general practice residency at the U.S. Veterans Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 1982. Dr. Shewmaker has been in private practice in Fairfax since completion of his residency.

Dr. Shewmaker maintains his commitment to dental excellence by attending continuing education seminars throughout the year.
